This article is all about Builders in Nottingham.
So, the purpose of the article (and in a sense, of Stravelles) is to help people find builders in Nottingham so that they can progress towards hiring a Nottingham builder for their construction project.
There are of course lots of builders operating in and around Nottingham. But its one thing finding the names of builders and asking for quotes. How do you know if the builder is going to be any good or not?
How do you stop a builder just taking your deposit and leaving you on the hook while it works on several other projects.
We have a mini course on how to find a builder. If you want to reduce your financial and all other risks in construction you should invest in it:
Most people will contact Nottingham construction companies by searching for them online. They might try the following searches in google search or a similar search engine:
These searches will lead to pages and pages of search results. A lot of the search results at top and bottom of the page will be advertisements. You will definitely find a lot of aggregator websites which show you results for builders in Nottingham. These aggregator websites companies like Checkatrade charge builders to be listed in their database. They are essentially old school classified advertisements in newspapers. Other businesses include:
Before you know it you will have a list of dozens of builders who potentially will carry out the works for you.
But just because you have a list of builders it does not mean that any of these will be suitable for you on your project. You have to research all of these builders and get quotations from them.
And once you start asking for quotations you will find that a lot of builders are too busy, the project is too small for them, some of them will blank you and so on.
Any when you do get a price you find that its really hard to understand what is included and excluded.
There is also the danger of overpayment. If a builder provides you with a quote for £100,000 and its made up of £30,000 for the foundations, £20,000 for the walls and so forth how do you know that he has not ‘front-loaded’ the costs. If you pay him too much, too early he might not come back to finish the work.
Here is a list of builders in Nottingham.
We are not promoting or recommending these builders but just providing a list of builders that we know to be operating in the Nottinghamshire area.
As you can see, from first glance, there is not a lack of builders.
But a lot of these builders may be too busy or you may not like their offering e.g. they might be over your budget, you make like their vibe etc.
It takes a lot of research to find a builder for your project and you should not rush into it.
